Kokua.org Beta Event #3 recap

It’s pretty exciting to look back at our beta event #3 and see how far kokua.org has come in a short period of time. This event had 30% more people than beta #2 had. We had people from different sectors come together with the common purpose to build relationships, collaborate and help each other solve problems. We had decision makers from business, non profit, government, education and the only area we are currently weak on is military participation which will be remedied at our beta event #4.

Our philosophy is to remain in an eternal “beta test” where we see what works and what doesn’t, iterate, pivot if needed and then launch a new version. So far, this has worked out really well. The open registration filled up in a little over 2 days which showed strong demand and commitment. Beta #3 consisted of 40% women, 40% new people and lots of different sectors. We got right into it from the beginning with some best practices and then went to small group facilitation. We did a number of really engaging exercises and then finished up with a live sift feedback session. The live sift results are here if you are interested. (note: The last question in the livesift results shows a 5% no which was a slip of the thumb so it’s actually 0%) This event created a lot of interesting serendipitous moments and launched a lot of new relationships. See the success stories page for some examples.

Here are some photos from the Kokua.org Beta Event #3.
